Marketing Facts and Stats Creatively at Mounds Park Academy
On Thursday, April 26, at 1pm EDT, I will present a webinar on 40+ Strategies to Market and Grow Your School in 40 Minutes. This webinar will be filled with real examples that schools have implemented. There is still time for you to register and join my webinar. You can click on the following link to register.
As a way to stimulate your interest in my presentation, I want to share one strategy with you in this blog post that I will highlight in my webinar.
Last year I had the opportunity to partner with Mounds Park Academy in St. Paul, MN. Mounds Park Academy is one of the leading Prek-12th grade independent schools in the Twin Cities. Craig Dodson, Director of Admissions, and Natalie Waters Seum, Director of Communications and Marketing, contacted me to spend two days on campus reviewing their plan. They already had a well-developed enrollment and marketing plan in place and they wanted me to interact with them to continue to sharpen their efforts. Most schools that I visit don’t have this type of comprehensive plan in place so it was refreshing to interact with their team to ensure that they were doing everything possible to maximize their efforts.
Shareable Facts Campaign
During my visit, I was impressed with their storytelling focus on social media. In fact, last year in April they implemented a “Shareable Facts” campaign on Facebook. Every day during the month of April, they posted a unique fact or stat about the school that corresponded to the day of the month. For example, on April 28, they posted that 28 is the average ACT score of a MPA student.
My favorite post from this campaign was on April 27 when they posted a picture of the stegosaurus in their library and noted that it has 27 vertebrae (I wonder if they will post this again this year?).
Now you get the idea of what they are doing.
This campaign worked so well last year that they are doing it again this month. You will want to check out this campaign as you consider how you can implement this idea at your school. This campaign is being driven by Lurn Hernández in Communications and Nate Bander in Admission. As you can see, they have a very creative, energetic and strategic team. You can follow their campaign, as well as their other outstanding posts, by visiting the Mounds Park Academy Facebook page and following their hashtag: #ShareMPAMonth.
One of my Enrollment Catalyst Program clients this year, Ben Lippen School in Columbia, SC, liked this idea so much that they have successfully implemented it this month. Rebecca Austin has done a great job of replicating this idea for Ben Lippen and implementing it in her social media strategy. You can check out the Ben Lippen School Facebook Page to see their campaign.
This is just one of the 40+ strategies that I will present in my webinar on Thursday. Make sure that you register now. And, if you can’t attend live or read this after the event, the webinar will be recorded and emailed to you so that you can watch it at a time that is convenient for you. See you on Thursday!
The following is a post from this year’s campaign #ShareMPAMonth:
