Delaware Valley Friends School

Delaware Valley Friends School was in a season of change. Their beloved Head of School was planning to retire and enrollment had been declining for a number of years. A marketing department was added, but still, the school’s story and brand were not well known in the community.

To get clear direction, the Board decided to partner with an external marketing firm to evaluate, redirect, and support enrollment efforts. Having seen the value Rick provided to other schools, the marketing firm suggested Rick as a candidate.

“We had been following him on social media for some time and liked the practical, actionable approach he took,” Howell said. “We felt that would benefit the school more than a fancy new tagline or brochure.”

Benefit it did.

After working with Enrollment Catalyst, enrollment increased by 15 percent. The Middle School is bigger than ever and a Lower School is being added.

“Rick confirmed to our Board that we were doing a lot of things right, but showed us ways to better communicate,” Howell explained. “He specifically helped us improve our online presence, focus on telling stories on our website and in our collateral, and supported us in selecting and implementing a new enrollment database.”

Howell and her team said, in addition to the actionable, trackable, ideas, they appreciated Rick’s genuine personality and kindness.

“After spending two days with our faculty, students, parents, and staff, Rick provided recommendations that fit our school and situation,” she said. “You always felt like he was on your side.”
