12 Growth Mindsets for the Enrollment Crisis

Has your school’s enrollment been experiencing decline?

Are you anticipating an enrollment decrease this year?

Do you have a growth mindset at your school?

With the continued uncertainty of COVID-19 this summer, many school leaders are facing enrollment challenges.

As an enrollment catalyst, I am always interested in how school leaders can turn around their enrollment decline.

In the summer issue of Independent School Magazine by the National Association of Independent Schools, Dr. Olaf Jorgensen published an outstanding article on “12 Growth Mindsets for the Enrollment Crisis.”

12 Growth Mindsets for the Enrollment Crisis

Based on his own experiences as the head of school at Almaden Country Day School in San Jose, California, Dr. Jorgensen discusses how he has led a successful enrollment turnaround at his school. During the past four years, he has been able to implement the 12 growth mindsets that he discusses in his article.

His article is timely and addresses the mindsets that we need in our schools, especially during this time of uncertainty. I have invited Dr. Jorgensen to be a guest on my Live Show this week. In addition, two key members of his team will be joining the show: Jennifer Glasser, Associate Head for Advancement, and Mary Jo Heindel, Director of Admissions and Outreach.

During this Live Show, we will discuss these 12 growth mindsets that resulted in Almaden Country Day’s turnaround as encouragement for you to implement at your school. You will want to ask yourself if these 12 growth mindsets are present in your school. Dr. Jorgensen says, “The mindsets focus on the idea that we can prevail if we’re willing to unite and commit to a different way of thinking.”

It’s time for a different way of thinking as you address the enrollment needs at your school.
