Indian Rocks Christian School (FL) Experiences Record Re-enrollment

Dr. Don Mayes has been the Superintendent of Indian Rocks Christian School in Largo, FL, for the past eight years. With the uncertainty of the economy and its impact on enrollment, Don decided the time was right to invest in the school’s marketing and enrollment effort.

For several years, they have not had a full-time position committed to the school’s marketing and enrollment strategies. Realizing that this staffing addition could make a difference, Don partnered with Rick Newberry and Enrollment Catalyst to provide ongoing coaching through August 2011. The priority in our strategy was to first hire a full-time director of enrollment and marketing. Pamela Pardi was hired to lead this effort beginning in December.

Immediately after Pamela was hired, training was provided so that she could hit the ground running in her responsibilities. As a result of a more focused intensity on re-enrollment, the results in February were record-breaking. For the first time, re-enrollment reached a high of nearly 90% of current students re-enrolling for next year. Obviously, this is indicator of the overall satisfaction of the parents at the school as well as the increased effort from Pamela, Don and the school’s leadership team.

“Working with Rick in the Catalyst Program to implement a strategic approach to enrollment for Indian Rocks Christian School, has been an amazing experience.  He has set me up for success by providing direction, role-clarity, and consistent action plans that have allowed me to obtain goals ahead of schedule.  Rick makes himself available for advice and input as needed, and his one-on-one coaching keeps me on course to succeed in my enrollment and marketing objectives.” — Pamela Pardi, Director of Enrollment and Marketing, Indian Rocks Christian School
